Iran's atomic agency to legally pursue IAEA chief's inaction on US-Israeli attacks

The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) says it will use legal channels to pursue cases related to inaction of Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi, following the US-Israeli attacks on the country's nuclear sites.

The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) says it will use legal channels to pursue cases related to inaction of Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi, following the US-Israeli attacks on the country's nuclear sites.

The AEOI, in a statement posted on its X account on Saturday evening, noted that the condemnation of the attacks on Iran's peaceful nuclear facilities was the minimum expectation from the IAEA, within the framework of the Agency's statutory responsibilities.

The statement, which came after the fourth US-Israeli attack on the Bushehr nuclear power plant in the last one month, said the Islamic Republic would also pursue the protection of its nuclear sovereignty rights and asses the reasons behind Grossi's inaction on the violation through legal channels.

In the continuation of the illegitimate US-Israeli war of aggression, a projectile hit near the Bushehr nuclear plant in the early hours of Saturday, resulting in damage to auxiliary buildings of the plant by explosive wave and shrapnel from the attack, and the martyrdom of one of the staff of the plant's physical protection section.

The attack was the fourth on the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant since the criminal regimes of the US and Israel launched their unprovoked aggression against Iran.

Iranian, as well as Russian experts have warned, time and again, about the risk posed to he region by any attack on the plant that is operational and contains significant quantities of radioactive materials.

The Natanz enrichment complex in Isfahan, the Ardakan yellow cake plant in Yazd, and the Khondab heavy water complex in Arak are other facilities targeted in the US-Israeli strikes.
