Iran Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf to Muslim Nations: 'Saying No' to Hegemony Has Become a Reality

In an op-ed published by Al Jazeera addressed to the Muslim nations of the region, Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf emphasized that Iran’s powerful defense has humiliated the "front of evildoers," asserting that the West's greatest fear—a collective "No" to global hegemony—has now been realized.

ABNA24 - In an op-ed published by Al Jazeera addressed to the Muslim nations of the region, Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf emphasized that Iran’s powerful defense has humiliated the "front of evildoers," asserting that the West's greatest fear—a collective "No" to global hegemony—has now been realized.

The full text of the note is as follows:

The "Third Imposed War" is a conflict that the Islamic Republic of Iran did not choose nor start, yet it has become a symbol of resistance for those seeking freedom, independence, and an end to global domination. This is a war launched by the United States and the Israeli regime, targeting not only Iran but the very security of the region and the ideal of Islamic unity and brotherhood.

The Islamic Republic’s priority has always been strengthening ties with its neighbors and the Muslim world. Iran is not a threat to the region; rather, it has consistently extended a hand of brotherhood. The Beijing Agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia—pursued by the late President Raisi and President Pezeshkian, and endorsed by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution—stands as a testament to this approach based on Islamic unity and distrust of arrogant powers.

The Illusion of 'Rented Security'

Recent developments have proven that sustainable security requires indigenous capabilities. The experience of our neighbors—such as the attack on Qatar where U.S. bases failed to provide a defensive response, or the use of regional military infrastructure to attack Iran—demonstrates that these foreign bases are not built for the host countries' security. Instead, they are tools for the Zionist regime’s expansionist goals and have become primary drivers of regional instability.

The Muslim world has not forgotten the Zionist Prime Minister’s open talk of a "Greater Israel" or the U.S. Ambassador’s claims regarding Israeli territorial rights from the Nile to the Euphrates. Nor have we forgotten the revelations that groups like ISIS were created by the U.S. to advance its destabilizing agenda.

The Power of Resistance

Relying on internal strength and divine support, we prepared for such a confrontation. Our resolute and powerful legitimate defense has made Muslims and free people everywhere proud while humiliating the aggressors. What the global arrogance feared most has happened: "Saying No" to hegemony has gained influence and power, inviting new allies to join this front.

A Call to Muslim Brothers and Neighbors

It is now clear that this is "Israel’s war." All the insecurity and costs borne by the world, including the American people, serve only the interests of Netanyahu and the Zionist regime. For years, the false narrative that Iran is the cause of instability was used to drain the financial resources of the Muslim world into weapon purchases.

The Zionist lobby has dragged the U.S. into a war with Iran, forcing Tehran to strike U.S. bases and interests to preserve its very existence. Simultaneously, the criminal Prime Minister of Israel—the primary cause of the region's security and economic crises—deceptively speaks of a regional alliance against the "Iranian threat." This same deceptive gang is now trying to convince the Persian Gulf states that an Iranian victory would mean the end of regional security.

Security Without Foreign Intervention

On the contrary, any escalation will be met with a decisive and broader Iranian response against U.S. interests, leading to long-term insecurity and the flight of capital—costs that the regional countries will pay first. Sustainable security is our priority. We believe that a stable economy produces regional security, and shared economic interests guarantee that security.

Persian Gulf nations can create lasting security without foreign interference through bilateral and multilateral agreements. The era of "Petro-security" is over; security cannot be bought or rented through foreign equipment. It must be produced through the synergy of economic capacities, cultural identity, and geographical realities.

U.S. presidents come and go, but Iran remains in this region. It is time for realism: we must move toward "Security Minus America and Israel." When Iran, standing alone, can bring the Zionist-American enemy to a point of desperation, our brotherly unity can ensure that regional insecurity never takes root. The Islamic Republic is fully prepared for such cooperation aimed at collective development and sustainable security.
