AhlulBayt News Agency: The Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah offered congratulations on the election of Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei as new Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
Hezbollah issued a statement on Monday, congratulating the Iranian nation and leadership, Al-Mayadeen reported.
It also appreciated the efforts of Iran’s Assembly of Experts to fullfil its historic and religious duty promptly despite the current difficult conditions and the ongoing brutal aggression by the US and Israeli regime against Iran.
The swift election of the new Leader sends the message to the Muslim Ummah and to the enemies that the Iranian nation and leadership will not be intimidated by the aggressors’ terrorist acts, Hezbollah emphasized.
It added that enemy attempts to deal blows to the Islamic Revolution will be foiled thanks to the self-sacrifices of Muslim fighters, the blood of martyrs and the steadfastness of the revolution’s Leader.
Hezbollah also underlined loyalty and commitment to the path of Wilayat.
Meanwhile, the head of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) also congratulated the election of Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei as the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
In a message, Falih al-Fayyadh, also lauded the great cohesion, steadfastness and capability of the Iranian ruling institutions in the process of transferring the leadership with wisdom and stability.
In a statement issued late on Sunday, March 8, 2026, the Assembly offered condolences on the martyrdom of Imam Khamenei and other martyrs in a US-Israeli attack on February 28 and condemned the brutal US-Israeli aggression on Iran.
The statement said that immediately after the martyrdom of Imam Khamenei, and despite the wartime conditions and direct threats by the enemies, the Assembly of Experts wasted no time in fulfilling its constitutional duty, and began the process of selecting and introducing the new leader.
It said that after precise and extensive reviews, and based on its religious duty, the Assembly, in its meeting of Sunday, selected and introduced Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei as the third Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
