Poisonous air blankets Tehran as explosions intensify

The U.S.-Israeli daily attacks to Tehran, especially to oil storage facilities, has released tremendous volumes of smoke and poisonous gases into the sky, making breathing difficult for people.

AhlulBayt News Agency:  The U.S.-Israeli daily attacks to Tehran, especially to oil storage facilities, has released tremendous volumes of smoke and poisonous gases into the sky, making breathing difficult for people.

The situation has increased concerns about air quality which can lead to respiratory diseases among citizens.

Air in some parts of the city is filled with particulate matters, as well as pollutant gases such as sulfur oxide and nitrogen oxide.

Being in open air for a long time can create severe health problems for people.

According to officials, the U.S.-Israeli attacks to storage facilities in Tehran during the 12-day war in June 2025 burnt some 19.5 million liters of fuel, releasing around 47,000 tons of greenhouse gas into the air.
