Iran’s Foreign Ministry, Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, and Ministry of Intelligence have pledged allegiance to Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei following his election as the country’s third Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
In a statement issued on March 9, the Foreign Ministry congratulated Ayatollah Khamenei and the Iranian nation on a prudent choice made in accordance with the Constitution by the Assembly of Experts. The ministry said the decision comes at a sensitive time as Iran faces continued military aggression from the criminal US and Israeli regimes.
Paying tribute to the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution and to military commanders and civilians martyred during the recent attacks on Iran, the ministry underlined that the decisive vote of the Assembly of Experts and broad public support would help guarantee national unity, independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
The Foreign Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to the new Leader and pledged to continue working to safeguard Iran’s national interests and advance the strategic objectives of the country’s foreign policy.
Iran’s Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics also issued a message of allegiance, declaring its full readiness to implement the directives of the new Leader and commander‑in‑chief of the armed forces. The ministry emphasized it would continue the path of the founders of the revolution and pursue the ideals of the nation’s martyrs.
The Intelligence Ministry likewise announced its allegiance, emphasizing that the Islamic Republic, rooted in the principles of Islamic governance and the doctrine of Velayat‑e Faqih (Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist), will continue its path with resilience despite external pressures and security threats.
Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei was formally introduced as the new Leader of the Islamic Revolution early Monday, March 9, 2026, following a decision by the Assembly of Experts. On February 28, the leader of the Islamic Revolution Seyyed Ali Khamenei was martyred in a terror attack by the US and Israeli criminal regimes.
