Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind Warns Over RSS Chief’s Remarks on Religious Conversions to Hinduism

The head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind condemned RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s call to accelerate “Ghar Wapsi,” warning that such rhetoric threatens India’s national unity and constitutional framework.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The president of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind has strongly condemned recent remarks by the chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) regarding the acceleration of the so-called “Ghar Wapsi” campaign, describing them as a threat to India.

Maulana Arshad Madani, head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, said in a message posted on X that raising the issue of “Ghar Wapsi” for “twenty million Muslims” has no precedent over the past seven decades, calling such statements unprecedented, alarming, and dangerous.

He stressed that any discourse pushing the country toward destruction, unrest, and mutual hostility cannot be regarded as a sign of loyalty to the nation.

The reaction came one day after Mohan Bhagwat, chief of the RSS, speaking at a gathering in Lucknow, emphasized unity, organization, and empowerment of the Hindu community and called for intensified efforts to bring individuals back to Hinduism.

Maulana Madani underlined that Muslims will remain steadfast in their religious beliefs and that lasting peace and coexistence in India are only possible within the framework of the Constitution. He added that no religion justifies violence and that all faiths emphasize humanity, tolerance, compassion, and unity. Therefore, he said, those who misuse religion to promote hatred and violence cannot be considered true followers of any faith and must be condemned at all levels.
