AhlulBayt News Agency: Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani, head of Iran’s Expediency Discernment Council, said the massive public turnout at nationwide rallies marking the 47th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution amounted to a “teeth-breaking response” to repeated threats by US officials.
According to IRNA, speaking at the opening of a council session on Wednesday, he stated that American officials’ miscalculations regarding the Iranian people and the Leader of the Islamic Revolution would ultimately make them instruments of the Israeli lobby.
Praising the large participation in the February 11 marches, Amoli Larijani said the demonstrations sent a clear message to the world that Iranians are not intimidated by threats and remain steadfast in their support for the ideals of the revolution.
He added that a nation that has lived for more than four decades with the principles of the Islamic Revolution has once again reaffirmed its commitment to those values, despite ongoing pressure and hostile propaganda.
