AhlulBayt News Agency: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has sharply criticized a series of unlawful Israeli measures aimed at designating occupied West Bank lands as so‑called “state land,” marking a new phase in Israel’s settlement expansion.
The OIC Secretary‑General condemned the move as an attempt to tighten Israeli control, reinforce settlement and annexation policies, alter the legal and demographic reality of the occupied Palestinian territories, and undermine the two‑state solution. The organization reaffirmed its rejection of these actions, which it says threaten the Palestinian people’s existence and their legitimate rights, including self‑determination and the establishment of an independent state on the June 4, 1967 borders with Al‑Quds Al‑Sharif as its capital.
The Islamic body renewed its call on the international community—especially the UN Security Council—to intervene urgently to compel Israel, the occupying power, to halt all illegal practices and to ensure accountability for its violations against the Palestinian people, their land, and their holy sites.
On Sunday, the Israeli government approved a new plan to tighten its grip on the occupied West Bank by registering vast areas as “state property,” the first such step since the 1967 occupation—an action Palestinians described as “de‑facto annexation.”
The decision has triggered widespread reactions from countries, world leaders, and resistance groups, all warning that the move constitutes a practical annexation of occupied Palestinian land.
