AhlulBayt News Agency: The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) announced that the 40th day after the martyrdom of Iranians during the January 8–9 incidents is not merely a calendar event but a strategic moment reflecting the Iranian nation’s steadfastness against what it described as a complex US-Israeli plot to destabilize the country.
In a statement released on Monday, the IRGC said the anniversary provides an opportunity to reassess a deep confrontation in a war of wills, aimed at fomenting organized unrest, paving the way for foreign aggression, undermining the Islamic system and fragmenting Iran.
The statement said the incidents unfolded within a hybrid warfare framework, exploiting legitimate public demands while combining violent actions by armed groups allegedly directed by foreign intelligence agencies with psychological, media and cognitive operations. The goal, it added, was to erode social capital, create a rift between the people and the state, and weaken national power.
According to the IRGC, tactics such as intimidation, infrastructure damage, provocation and attempts to inflame public emotions, particularly among youth, were pursued, but were thwarted by institutional cohesion and public awareness.
The statement said nationwide rallies on January 12 demonstrated that national security in Iran is rooted in popular will and collective responsibility, not solely institutions.
The IRGC called the 40th day following the martyrdom of Iranians as a chance to renew commitment to national unity, lasting security and territorial integrity, and invited the public to attend a commemorative ceremony on Tuesday at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Grand Mosalla.
