162 Settlers Storm Aqsa as Israel Imposes New Restrictions on Muslim Worshipers

Extremist settlers, accompanied by Israeli police, stormed the Aqsa Mosque multiple times on Monday, while nearly 600 settlers and “tourists” roamed its courtyards. Israeli forces imposed severe restrictions on Muslim worshipers and issued new bans preventing Palestinians from entering the holy site ahead of Ramadan.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Large groups of extremist Jewish settlers, escorted by Israeli police, stormed the courtyards of the Aqsa Mosque on Monday morning and again in the afternoon, while strict restrictions were imposed on Muslim worshipers attempting to enter the holy site.

Local sources reported that 162 settlers entered the Mosque through the Maghariba Gate in separate groups and roamed its courtyards under police protection.

Another 419 individuals also toured the courtyards under the pretext of being tourists.

During these tours, settlers received religious briefings from rabbis about the alleged temple and several of them provocatively performed Talmudic rituals inside the Islamic holy site.

Meanwhile, Israeli occupation police tightened movement and entry restrictions on Muslim worshipers at the gates of the Aqsa Mosque, preventing many from accessing the compound.

In recent days, Israeli police have escalated their restrictions ahead of Ramadan, issuing orders banning dozens of Palestinians from Al-Quds and the 1948 occupied territories from entering the Mosque.

In a related development, two young Jerusalemite men were handed renewable orders today by Israeli police, prohibiting them from entering the Aqsa Mosque for one week.
