AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Ahlul Bayt (A.S.) World Assembly has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Masjid Khadijah al-Kubra (A.S.) in Islamabad, Pakistan, stating that serious and effective measures against terrorism are indispensable for the protection of citizens and the promotion of Islamic unity.
In an official statement, the Assembly described the attack as a heinous crime against humanity, which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of nearly 200 Shia worshippers.
The incident occurred on 17 Sha‘ban 1447 AH during Friday prayers, when worshippers were peacefully engaged in prayer.
The statement said that targeting innocent worshippers is clear evidence of the brutal and inhumane mindset of the terrorist organization ISIS.
The attack represents a dangerous attempt to spread organized violence, hatred, and chaos, with the aim of instilling fear and terror in society.
Expressing deep sorrow and grief over this tragic incident, the World Assembly noted that the presence of active terrorist groups in the region is leading to the killing of innocent civilians, political and social instability, and obstacles to progress and development.
The statement emphasized that Pakistan’s oppressed Shia community has always advocated peaceful coexistence and unity with other Islamic sects, yet it continues to be repeatedly targeted by acts of terrorism.
Therefore, the Government of Pakistan, religious scholars, intellectuals, and the public must work together to take concrete steps to ensure the protection of citizens, promote Islamic unity, and completely eradicate terrorism.
The Ahlul Bayt (A.S.) World Assembly also called upon international institutions and organizations to fulfill their moral and humanitarian responsibilities in combating terrorism and to take practical action against global powers and elements supported by Zionism.
In conclusion, the statement expressed condolences to the Government and people of Pakistan, religious scholars, and the families of the martyrs and the injured, praying for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs and for the swift recovery of the wounded.
