Ansarullah Warns US Against Military Buildup, Threatens USS Abraham Lincoln

Yemen’s Ansarullah movement has warned the United States against expanding its military presence in West Asia, saying Sana’a is fully prepared to confront the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln if it approaches regional waters.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Yemen’s Ansarullah movement has warned the United States against expanding its military presence in West Asia, saying Sana’a is fully prepared to confront the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln if it approaches regional waters.

According to IRNA, a military source quoted by Al-Alam News Network on Wednesday said Ansarullah will not allow American warships or aircraft carriers to enter the Red Sea or the Arabian Sea, stressing that any such move would be met with a firm response.

Brigadier General Aziz Rashid, a senior figure close to the Ansarullah leadership, recalled a previous operation against the British-linked tanker Marlin Luanda in the Gulf of Aden, which he said was carried out in response to violations of the naval blockade imposed on Israel. He warned that similar strikes could be launched against US vessels considered a threat to Yemen.

Rashid said Yemeni armed forces have raised their combat readiness and are closely monitoring hostile movements following the deployment of a US strike group led by the USS Abraham Lincoln, a vessel that has previously been targeted by Yemeni forces.

He also pointed to a video released earlier this week by Ansarullah’s media bureau showing the targeting and burning of the British tanker, saying it served as a reminder of earlier operations that resulted in the sinking or disabling of dozens of ships accused of violating the maritime embargo declared by Sana’a against Israel.

According to Rashid, Yemen now possesses advanced naval surveillance and targeting capabilities, enabling its forces to track hostile vessels effectively. He added that the armed forces are at peak readiness to counter any aggression and engage enemy targets in both the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea.
