UK Arrests Protesters Supporting Palestine Action Hunger Strike

The London Metropolitan Police announced the arrest of a group of protesters supporting a hunger-striking prisoner from the “Palestine Action” movement yesterday, Saturday, during their presence near Wormwood Scrubs Prison in west London.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The London Metropolitan Police announced the arrest of a group of protesters supporting a hunger-striking prisoner from the “Palestine Action” movement yesterday, Saturday, during their presence near Wormwood Scrubs Prison in west London.

The police stated that they detained several demonstrators outside the prison and proceeded with arrests after the protesters refused to comply with orders to leave the area. The protesters are suspected of “preventing prison staff from entering and exiting, as well as threatening police officers.”

The Metropolitan Police clarified that some protesters managed to enter an area designated for prison staff in one of the buildings, confirming that the arrests were made on suspicion of committing “serious offenses.”

Video footage circulated on social media showed a group of protesters chanting outside the prison and holding supportive banners, while other clips documented some of them moving toward one of the buildings and entering it.

According to available information, the protest was organized in support of prisoner Omar Khaled, who the campaign says is currently the only hunger-striking participant in the “Prisoners for Palestine” initiative.
