Lebanese MP Warns Against Israeli Pressure: Surrender Not in Our Vocabulary

Hassan Fadlallah, a senior Lebanese lawmaker, rejected external pressures aimed at forcing Lebanon to surrender, stressing Hezbollah’s role as a symbol of dignity and resistance. He condemned Israeli aggression, occupation, and failure to honor reconstruction commitments.

AhlulBayt News Agency: A senior Lebanese lawmaker has warned that Lebanon is under external pressure through security, military, financial, political, and propaganda campaigns designed to force the country into surrender, stressing that surrender is not part of Lebanon’s vocabulary.

Hassan Fadlallah, a member of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to Resistance parliamentary bloc, said on Sunday: “All these attempts are meant to bring Lebanon to its knees. The enemy wants Lebanon and its resistance movement, Hezbollah, to raise their hands in surrender and wave the white flag.”

He added: “There are no signs of weapons deployment or storage in either southern or northern Lebanon. The ultimate aim of all this pressure is to push Lebanon into total submission.”

Fadlallah emphasized: “Surrender is absolutely not in our vocabulary. While circumstances, balance of power, and unfolding events may shape our actions and discourse, they do not mean capitulation to Israel and its objectives.”

He explained: “The battle may quiet down at times, and weapons may not be used. All of this is part of a clear resistance strategy — one of steadfastness, resilience, and patience.”

“This does not mean there are no pains, hardships, or sacrifices. Every life and drop of blood are precious. Our blood is not cheap. No one in Lebanon has the right to think this precious blood can be disregarded,” Fadlallah stressed.

The Lebanese lawmaker noted that Lebanon’s heavy burden stems from ongoing Israeli aggression, occupation of its territories, failure to release prisoners, and lack of progress in reconstruction.

He stated that this burden could be lifted if state institutions fulfill their duties, work for the release of prisoners, honor reconstruction commitments, and stop financial institutions that obstruct aid from reaching the needy.

The legislator underscored that Hezbollah represents dignity, pride, strength, protection, and liberation.

“Without the resistance group, southern Lebanon would still be under full Israeli occupation,” he said.

In recent months, Israel, backed by the US, has been pressuring Lebanon to disarm Hezbollah.

Israel and Lebanon agreed to a ceasefire in November 2024 after more than a year of attacks during the genocidal war in Gaza, which left over 4,000 dead and 17,000 injured.

Under the ceasefire terms, Israeli forces were supposed to fully withdraw from southern Lebanon, but they have only partially pulled out, maintaining a presence at five military outposts.
