AhlulBayt News Agency: The Daesh (ISIL) terrorist group has claimed responsibility for a deadly explosion in Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul, that left several people killed and injured, according to international media reports.
Agency France-Presse (AFP) reported that ISIL issued a statement claiming responsibility for the blast, which occurred in central Kabul and caused multiple casualties.
Local Afghan media, citing the Kabul Emergency Department, said that at least seven people have been killed so far as a result of the explosion. AFP likewise reported that the blast targeted a hotel in the Afghan capital, confirming a death toll of at least seven.
Meanwhile, Reuters reported that the explosion took place earlier on Tuesday in the Shahr-e Naw district of central Kabul, near a hotel-restaurant, leaving several civilians dead and injured. Reuters noted that the exact number of casualties has yet to be officially confirmed.
According to Mehr, in a separate report, Chinese state media said that two Chinese nationals were seriously injured in the explosion.
