AhlulBayt News Agency: People in Pakistan have expressed solidarity with the Iranian nation in the face of the recent unrest by foreign-backed terrorists in their country.
Pakistani demonstrators took to the streets of the cities of Parachenar and Skardu on Saturday in a show of support for the Islamic Republic of Iran and Islamic revolution ideals.
They chanted slogans, condemning the US and Israel for fomenting the unrest in Iran. The protesters also renewed allegiance to Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and denounced the US for threatening to take military action against Iran over the unrest.
Many Pakistani political and religious figures as well as ordinary people already visited Iranian diplomatic missions and cultural centers in Islamabad and other Pakistani cities to express solidarity with Iran and condemn the foreign-backed terrorist acts.
The unrest erupted a week ago after terror groups hijacked peaceful protests that had begun days earlier over economic issues. The protests morphed into scenes of violence while the Iranian government was in talks with the protesters’ representatives to hear their demands.
The US threw its weight behind the unrest by encouraging Iranian people to join violent protests while President Donald Trump publicly pledged help and even threatened to intervene militarily.
On Saturday, Ayatollah Khamenei delivered a speech to thousands of Iranian people he met in Tehran, holding the US responsible for the latest unrest.
