Extremist Jewish settler violence escalates across the West Bank as clashes erupt

Israeli settler militias escalated attacks and violations across several areas of the West Bank on Saturday, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces (IOF).

AhlulBayt News Agency: Israeli settler militias escalated attacks and violations across several areas of the West Bank on Saturday, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces (IOF).

Settlers blocked the road between the villages of al-Mughayyir and Abu Salah, east of Ramallah, preventing residents from attending the funeral of 14-year-old Mohammed al-Naasan, who was martyred a day earlier by Israeli gunfire during a raid on al-Mughayyir.

The IOF arrested Hidaya Rizq from the al-Khalayel area of al-Mughayyir village, east of Ramallah, along with an international solidarity activist, and forcibly expelled other activists after she confronted settlers.

The IOF also sealed off the main entrance to al-Mughayyir and deployed heavily at the al-Mazra’a junction east of Ramallah.

In the village of Sinjil, north of Ramallah, settlers herded their sheep into areas surrounding Palestinian homes. Clashes later broke out between local youths and settler militias in the al-Tall area south of Sinjil.

Mohammed Saad Naasan, 14, succumbed late Friday to a gunshot wound to the chest inflicted by the IOF during the raid on al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah.

Further south, settlers released their livestock onto Palestinian farmland in the al-Qarn area east of Sa’ir, north of al-Khalil. In Masafer Yatta, south of al-Khalil, a settler attacked Issa Ali Atayat with pepper spray in the Huwara area, causing injury.

Settler attacks also extended to Bethlehem, where groups wearing Israeli army uniforms stormed the surroundings of Palestinian homes in the village of Kisan, east of the city.

In Qalqilya, large groups of settlers raided the outskirts of the village of Far’ata, east of the city, continuing a pattern of coordinated assaults across the northern and central West Bank.
