AhlulBayt News Agency: Hadi Khani, Secretary of Iran’s High Council for the Prevention and Combating of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing, announced that the head of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has responded to a request from Iran calling for the suspension of U.S. and Israeli membership over alleged violations of international treaties and UN resolutions.
Following the joint U.S.-Israeli aggression on Iranian territory, Iran submitted a formal letter to the FATF leadership urging accountability for what it described as clear breaches of international law, Khani said on Monday.
As Iran is not affiliated with any FATF regional organizations, it has also shared its appeal with BRICS member states in pursuit of broader international support, he added.
According to Khani, the FATF president confirmed receiving the letter and stated that Iran’s request will be reviewed and considered.
