BEIRUT: Senior Shiite cleric Ayatollah Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah on Sunday urged all Arab Muslim and non-Muslim parties to fight against Israel, saying that when the enemy launched a war against Palestine and the Arab world, “it was only legal to declare war back.”
He added that the Arab and Muslim nations had lost confidence and surrendered to international powers, which allowed the United Sates to take over Afghanistan and Iraq. Moreover, the two nations allowed divisions to grow among them and put themselves in a “vulnerable position against Israel.”
“Arabs and Muslims are now afraid to hold any power either through the resistance or through auto-sufficiency projects such as the Iranian nuclear file,” he said. He called on Arabs and Muslims to unite and declare war on Israel whose aim was to destroy the Arab nation.
