AhlulBayt News Agency: Iran’s non-oil exports reached $8.241 billion in April and May, despite ongoing sanctions, according to Foroud Asgari, head of Iran’s Customs Administration.
Asgari announced that Iran exported 24.622 million tons of non-oil goods during this period, marking a 4.4% increase in weight compared to the same timeframe last year.
China was Iran’s largest export destination, receiving $2.425 billion in goods, followed by Iraq ($1.5 billion), the UAE ($1.094 billion), Turkey ($673 million), Afghanistan ($374 million), Pakistan ($322 million), and Oman ($305 million).
A 2024 World Bank report highlighted Iran’s economic resilience, noting that the country has maintained over 5% economic growth for the past three years, despite regional geopolitical tensions. The unemployment rate also declined to 7.4%.
