AhlulBayt News Agency: The Hamas Movement strongly condemned remarks made by US Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, who suggested that a Palestinian state be established on part of French territory. The comment appeared to be a response to France’s recent stance in favor of Palestinian state recognition.
In an official statement on Sunday, Hamas called Huckabee’s remarks a “blatant mockery” of Palestinian national rights and a “flagrant violation” of international law and UN resolutions. It accused the US of complete bias toward Israel and its colonial expansionist policies.
Hamas further denounced Huckabee’s statement as an embrace of the Israeli occupation’s narrative, which denies Palestinian sovereignty over their land and holy sites. The Movement warned that such rhetoric provides political cover for the Israeli government’s ongoing genocide and forced displacement campaign against Palestinians.
Calling for global action, Hamas urged the international community and the United Nations to take a firm stance in defense of Palestinian self-determination and the establishment of an independent state.
The condemnation comes shortly after French President Emmanuel Macron announced in April that France may officially recognize Palestine as a state this June.
