AhlulBayt News Agency: Ghazni Civil Hospital is struggling with severe challenges due to inadequate infrastructure and a shortage of medical staff, leaving it unable to accommodate patients effectively.
Hospital Director Alam Khan Amiri stated that despite the high demand, the medical infrastructure has not expanded in decades. Patients not only from Ghazni but also from neighboring provinces seek treatment here, yet the hospital lacks sufficient facilities and space, with its outdated building unable to accommodate the growing number of patients.
Dr. Sher Agha Hashimi described the situation as painful for both medical staff and patients. He noted that while patients arrive with great hope, the hospital lacks the necessary space and personnel to admit them, leading to significant overcrowding.
Patients have also expressed frustration over slow medical services, caused by the rising patient numbers. Many from outside Ghazni travel long distances seeking care, only to face delays due to limited hospital capacity.
Mohammad Aziz, a resident of Daikundi, reported traveling 15 hours to bring a patient to Ghazni Civil Hospital, only to wait three days due to overcrowding. He urged authorities to provide sufficient facilities so patients could receive timely operations and care.
Similarly, Abdul Shakoor from Ghazni emphasized the need for hospital renovations, highlighting the severe overcrowding and insufficient number of doctors. He called for urgent action to address the issue.
Despite years of delays, the construction of Ghazni’s 300-bed hospital remains incomplete, and patients continue to demand its swift completion to improve healthcare access in the region.
