AhlulBayt News Agency: The Quran Scientific Assembly, affiliated with the Astan (custodianship) of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine in Karbala, Iraq, has launched the 9th edition of a national Quranic plan.
Named Amir Al-Qurra (King of Quran Reciters), the initiative includes talented students from 16 governorates across Iraq, according to Muhammad Ridha al-Zubaidi, the executive director of the plan.
The educational programs began with a workshop focused on vocal and breathing exercises, preparing participants for lessons in Quran recitation and memorization.
Al-Zubaidi stated that the Assembly has designed a comprehensive program for participants, running from early morning until evening, following an advanced system that supports students at various levels.
The initiative will be conducted in three stages and will feature competitions, cultural and religious workshops, recreational trips, Quranic gatherings, and educational sessions on proper Quran recitation.
Quranic activities in Iraq have significantly expanded since the 2003 overthrow of former dictator Saddam Hussein, with a growing trend of Quranic programs, including competitions, recitation sessions, and educational initiatives.
