Iraqi forces uncover DAESH hideouts in Al-Anbar province

Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces discovered DAESH hideouts in Al-Anbar province, uncovering weapons and explosives. The operation aims to eliminate terrorist threats and secure the region.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (IPMF) have discovered new hideouts of DAESH (ISIL) in Al-Anbar province as part of their ongoing efforts to maintain security and prevent terrorist attacks.

An Iraqi security source in Al-Anbar province reported on Tuesday that the IPMF launched an operation in the Heet region after receiving intelligence about the presence of munitions and explosives in a DAESH hideout. During the operation, weapons, explosives, and food supplies were uncovered.

The source added that DAESH had stored its munitions and food in a tunnel for future use. The explosives found in the hideout were safely disposed of.

The operation was carried out with the goal of cleansing the western desert of Al-Anbar from DAESH terrorists and dismantling their weapon storage facilities.

At the same time, Salah Al-Isawi, commander of Brigade 54 of the IPMF, highlighted the brigade’s efforts to ensure security for farmers in Al-Anbar province. He stated that these measures align with the IPMF’s comprehensive security plan to prevent potential terrorist threats in different areas of the province.

Meanwhile, Iraqi forces continue to conduct airstrikes against DAESH tunnels and hideouts. In addition to direct attacks, they are carrying out inspections in remote and difficult-to-access regions to prevent terrorist ambushes and protect villages and security forces.
