(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Representative of Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani said on Saturday that Iraqi government, religious leaders and people from all walks of life should observe national unity to thwart social maladies in Iraq.
Sayyed Javad Shahrestani made the remarks in a meeting with Chief of Staff of the President, Mohammad Jahanandian in Qom.
Sayyed Shahrestani expressed concern about propaganda campaign of the western media against Islam, saying that accurate policy must be adopted to prevent damages on the pillar of religion.
Nahavandian said that under the current circumstances and the created opportunities in the world and the knowledge of the world people about the extremist groups, time is ripe to introduce genuine Islam and Shia and the role of the government, ulema, theological schools and religious leaders are of prime importance.
Nahavandian met with a number of religious leaders and Ulema in Qom.
