AhlulBayt News Agency - About 120 corpses of the so-called Islamic State (IS) militants have been killed on the battlefields where Peshmerga forces strongly repelled an IS offensive on Tuesday.
Muhammed Surchi, a spokesperson for the Peshmerga volunteers in Nineveh province, reported that more than 100 insurgents were killed on the Tel Skuf frontline north of Mosul (405 km north of Baghdad) during Tuesday’s confrontations.
He stated that at least 110 dead body of militants were left behind on the the battlefield while scores more were taken back by the retreating jihadists.
On May 3, the IS militants attacked Peshmerga positions on different front-lines near Mosul, but the Kurdish forces, backed by coalition aerial support, strongly warded off their assaults and inflicted the extremists with heavy damage and high number of casualties.
