AhlulBayt News Agency: A U.S. F-18 fighter jet plunged into the Red Sea on Tuesday after failing to stop properly upon landing on the flight deck of the Harry S Truman aircraft carrier, marking the second such incident within a week, according to two U.S. officials cited by Reuters.
According to Mehr, Both crew members ejected before the aircraft went overboard and were successfully rescued by a helicopter.
Medical evaluations indicated they sustained only minor injuries, and no flight deck personnel were harmed.
The U.S. Navy has not issued an official response to the incident. Just a week earlier, another fighter jet fell from the Truman, which has been supporting U.S. operations against Yemeni forces.
