Death toll rises to 125 in US airstrikes on migrant shelter in Yemen

US airstrikes on a migrant detention center in Yemen’s Saada province have left 125 dead and 65 injured, violating international laws protecting civilian shelters. Registered with the UN and Red Cross, the facility’s targeting has raised urgent humanitarian concerns and calls for accountability amid escalating violence.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The death toll from US airstrikes on a migrant detention center in Saada province has tragically risen to 125, according to Yemen’s Civil Defense under the Ministry of Interior.

The Civil Defense stated that the initial toll included 60 fatalities and 65 injuries among African migrants housed at the facility. The center had previously been targeted in two air raids by the US Air Force at dawn, despite its designation as a civilian shelter registered with the United Nations and International Red Cross—a clear violation of international regulations prohibiting attacks on civilian institutions.

This escalation highlights grave concerns over targeted aggression against vulnerable populations, further amplifying humanitarian calls for accountability and justice in the region.
