Iran successfully thwarts major cyberattack on critical infrastructure

AhlulBayt News Agency: Iran has successfully intercepted and neutralized a major cyberattack aimed at its critical infrastructure.

Behzad Akbari, the CEO of Iran’s Telecommunications Infrastructure Company and Deputy ICT Minister, revealed that the attack was promptly identified and countered.

“Through divine guidance and the unwavering efforts of the security and technical teams at the Telecommunications Infrastructure Company and the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, a large-scale and intricate cyberattack targeting the nation’s infrastructure was detected yesterday, and preventive measures were swiftly enacted,” Akbari stated in a post shared on the social media platform X.

Details regarding the source and nature of the cyberattack have not yet been made public.
