AhlulBayt News Agency: The custodian of the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) honored the qaris who recited in Khatm Quran programs at the mausoleum during the holy month of Ramadan.
Among those honored by Sheikh Abdul Mahdi al-Karbalayi were also the winners and members of the panel of judges of the 5th edition of the Hudan Lil Muttaqeen Quran Competition.
He appreciated the qaris and the winners of the contest for their efforts to serve the Holy Book.
According to Sayyid Mortadha Jamaleddin, deputy of the holy shrine’s Dar-ol-Quran Center, the qaris who took part in the Ramadan Khatm Quran programs were from different Quranic institutes as well as security organizations.
He also noted that most of the top winners in the Hudan Lil Muttaqeen contest were students from the holy shrine’s Dar-ol-Quran Center, which reflects the strengthening of the Quranic programs at the center and its success in educational activities.
The winners were awarded pilgrimage to the holy shrines in Iraq and Umrah pilgrimage as their prize.
During the holy month of Ramadan (March), Khatm Quran (reading the Quran from the beginning to the end) programs were held at the holy mausoleum every day.
