AhlulBahyt News Agency: Israeli forces have directly attacked the governorate building in Syria’s Quneitra province on today, April 6, 2025, , as part of ongoing efforts to intimidate Syrian civilians and consolidate occupation in southern Syria.
Zionist regime’s systematic aggression in Quneitra highlights a dangerous escalation in its attempts to destabilize Syria following the fall of the central government in the south. These actions violate international law and threaten regional peace, while the international community remains disturbingly silent.
Mohammad Bakr, a local activist, stated that Israel wants southern Syria to remain fragmented, dependent, and unstable, emphasizing that “this attack is a message that Israel controls every aspect of life here. Our children are afraid to go to school. Nothing is safe anymore.”
A human rights activist from Quneitra, speaking anonymously, echoed these concerns, pointing to the deliberate media blackout and international inaction, warning that “the U.S. and Western powers are deliberately ignoring these crimes, and Israel has no intention to withdraw, pushing our region into a new spiral of violence.”
Quneitra has been under increasing Israeli military pressure since December 2024. Residents accuse the Zionist regime of attempting to erase the province’s identity and divide its population. Calls for resistance are growing amid frustration over the Syrian government’s passive stance and the international community’s failure to address ongoing violations of sovereignty and human rights.
