AhlulBayt News Agency: Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei says it is time the international community ended the Israeli regime’s streak of killing children and getting away with it.
Baqaei said in a post on his X account on Tuesday that the Israeli regime had killed over 180 Palestinian children in military strikes on the Gaza Strip in one day alone, “the largest instance of infanticide during the seven decades of its criminal life.”
He said the world now knew that infanticide was a “systematic and calculated” Israeli policy that is aimed at the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.
“The terrorist Israeli regime shamelessly continues its crimes against humanity and widespread genocide against innocent and defenseless Palestinian children and families, with the full complicity and all-out support of the United States and some [other] Western governments or aided by their silence and inaction,” he said.
The killing of the Palestinian children, he said, “have left deep wounds on the conscience of humanity, and the inaction and indifference of the United Nations and pertinent human rights institutions add insult to injury.”
Baqaei said it was high time the international community ended that silence and rose up against “the most severe oppression in contemporary history,” and held Israel and its sponsors accountable for atrocities in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
Israel launched a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023. The war was briefly halted with a ceasefire agreement in January. The regime restarted the war on March 18. Israeli strikes killed at least 23 people in the Gaza Strip overnight into Tuesday. Among the fatalities were three children and their parents, who were killed in a strike on their tent near the southern city of Khan Younis, according to Gaza’s Nasser Hospital.
More than 50,000 Palestinians have been killed and over 113,000 wounded in the war, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.
