AhlulBayt News Agency: Central Asia Division of the Office for Foreign Pilgrims Affairs at Imam Reza shrine held third night of Qadr especially for Shia pilgrims from the Republic of Azerbaijan at Sheikh Tabarsi hall of the complex.
This Azeri-language ceremony was organized with the aim of reviving the third night of Qadr and explaining deep concepts behind these holy nights. The ceremony was attended by enthusiastic Azeri pilgrims.
Addressing participants, Hoj. Mohammad Bagher Saei-Var, a prominent Shia cleric, delivered a speech on the “importance of the nights of Qadr [nights of destiny] in Islamic teachings."
Referring to the verses of Quran, Hoj Saei-Var stated: “Night of Qadr is an unparalleled opportunity for renewing one's covenant with God and understanding the grace of divine mercy”.
In another part of his speech, he referred to the martyrdom of Imam Ali (AS), emphasizing: “It is necessary to follow his example in strengthening Islamic unity and fighting oppression and suppression”.
Hoj. Saei-Var considered martyrdom of Imam Ali (AS) as a symbol of resistance against modern ignorance, adding: “The Alavi path is a guiding light for the Islamic community in achieving justice and eliminating discrimination”.
The ceremony continued with recitation of Joshan Kabir supplication and holding of congregational prayers. Azeri pilgrims, many of whom had the opportunity to visit Imam Reza shrine for the first time, enjoyed an atmosphere of spirituality in this event.
Organizing such programs, Astan Quds Razavi, the body in charge of Imam Reza shrine, not only strengthens religious and cultural ties between Iran and regional countries, but also provides an opportunity for non-Iranian pilgrims to gain knowledge about teachings of Ahl al-Bayt (AS). The ceremony was a symbol of solidarity of the Islamic Ummah in light of shared Shia teachings.
