Egypt Quran radio no longer broadcast ads
AhlulBayt News Agency: Advertisements will no longer be broadcast on Egypt’s Quran Radio channel starting on January 1, 2025.

This comes after the National Media Authority (NMA) decided on Sunday to ban advertisements on the radio following complaints from the public and leaders of official religious institutions.

This decision follows the NMA's ban, made about a week earlier, on hosting fortune-tellers and astrologers across all its television channels, radio stations, and digital platforms.

The NMA, led by Ahmed El-Moslemany, approved a proposal from the Greetings and Advertising Policies Committee to shift advertisements from the Quran Radio to other stations within the authority's network.

As a result, advertisements will no longer be broadcast on Quran Radio starting the new year.

Founded in 1964, Egypt's Quran Radio has more than 60 million listeners in Egypt and across the Islamic world.

Additionally, El-Moslemany thanked Khaled Abdel Aziz, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Media, for his efforts and the Ministry of Finance for compensating any potential loss in advertising revenue following the transfer of ads from Egypt's Quran Radio to other stations.
