The Technical Assistant to the head of the Department of Maqam of Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his holy reappearance); consulting engineer Mahdi Mohammed al-Mousawi, said: "based on the directives of the general secretariat of the holy shrine aimed at supporting the government effort, our staff, in cooperation with the Directorate of Water Resources, carried out the work of cleaning the Hussayniya River."
He added that the cleaning works started from the area adjacent to the Maqam of Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah Almighty hasten his holy reappearance), and included removing the rubble and debris accumulated inside the river that impede the flow of water in this area, to preserve the aesthetics of the river and show it in the most beautiful image.
