Israeli security minister calls for detaining and killing Palestinians

In new controversial remarks, Israeli public security minister Omer Barlev has called for the detention and execution of the Palestinians who carry out operations against Israelis.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): In new controversial remarks, Israeli public security minister Omer Barlev has called for the detention and execution of the Palestinians who carry out operations against Israelis.

Barlev said his remarks during his visit to the house of a policeman who was killed in the Bnei Brak operation last week.

His recent remarks made him an object of ridicule once again in the Hebrew media because Israel’s military and security forces already follow a shoot-to-kill policy, which is pursued solely against the Palestinians.

Following a series of senseless remarks, the Israeli government decided to avoid inviting Barlev to an important meeting held recently to assess the security situation. He served as commander of the elite Sayeret Matkal commando unit in the 1980s and is considered one of the Israeli Labor Party’s leaders.

Among his recent stated mistakes, the remarks he made at the funeral of those killed in the Beersheba operation last month when he said he would not rest until he reached the killer, who was already shot dead on the scene.

He also mourned dead soldiers following the recent Jenin operation that claimed the lives of several Islamic Jihad members despite the fact that an Israeli official statement issued at the time affirmed that none of the soldiers who participated in the raid was killed.
