AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The national action factions, the commission of detainees and ex-detainees affairs, the Palestinian prisoner society, and the prisoners’ families committees staged a rally in solidarity with the prisoner Khalil Awawdeh in the center of Khalil on Monday.
Khalil Awawdeh has been on hunger strike for 32 days in a row. Awawdeh’s wife, Dalal, said that the lawyer informed the family after his visit to her husband on Sunday that he suffers from severe weight loss and headaches.
“Al-Awawdeh has lost more than 8 kilograms of his weight. He suffers from dizziness, inability to concentrate, joints pain, and nausea. We stand in solidarity with the prisoner Al-Awawdeh and all sick and elderly prisoners,” the director of the commission of detainees and ex-detainees affairs, Ibrahim Najajrah, said.
The Palestinian prisoner society director, Amjad Al-Najjar, stated that Al-Awawdeh has been held in administrative detention nine times.
"More than 500 Administrative detainees, mostly from Khalil, continue their boycott of the Israeli occupation courts for the 94th day in a row, in protest at the Israeli policy of administrative detention. Ramadan is the month of national mobilization and after it prisoners will start an open-ended hunger strike,” Al-Najjar added.
