"The developments in Tunisia and the stretch of the popular upsurge to Egypt and Yemen have clear evidence that several Arab regimes are against the will of their peoples," Sadriddin al-Gubbanchy said in his Friday Speech in Najaf's Fatimiya Husseiniya (Shiite Mosque), describing the protests in those countries as an "Islamic Arab Revival and popular uprsurge to create change."
Gubbanchy said: "We are proud towards what is happening in the Region, being linked to the Karbala incident, when Imam Hussein Bin-Ali, Prophet Mohammed's Grandson, rejected to lean to humiliation and darkness" in the dawn of Islam.
In another development, Gabbanchy called on the political forces in Iraq to accelerate their agreement to assign the Ministers of Interior, Defense, National Security and Electricity, according to their efficiency," warning the Iraqi government from taking any step to minimize the Rational Card, granted by it to the people and the deterioration of services, especially electricity, for which huge amounts of money were allocated for, in order to improve it and increase power hours."
"The deterioration of services is not for the interest of the government," he said, adding that "the people's silence does not reflect its satisfaction, and their patience shall end, as the patience of the Tunisian people had finished and had raised up for creating change."
Najaf, the center of the Province carrying the same name, is 160 kms to the south of Baghdad.
