Insurgents killed Two Muslims in Thailand

Pattani - A Musliman was killed and another injured when they were ambushed by insurgents in this southern border province late Friday night, police said.

Pattani, Thailand -- A Musliman was killed and another injured when they were ambushed by insurgents in this southern border province late Friday night, police said.

The two were shot were riding a motorcycle to a school in their village, Ban Tabing in Tambon Tabing of Sai Buri district, at about five minutes after midnight.

Police said the two were supposed to guard the school at night.

Sumsuding Mahama, 21, died at the scene. He was shot at his head and left leg.

The pillion rider, Makata Mahama, 46, the village head of Tabing village, suffered bruises after the motorcycle fell following the shooting.

Muslim woman shot dead in Yala

Yala, Thailand -- A Muslim woman was shot dead in this southern border province Saturday morning, police said.

Rosi Bahsa-ae, 26, was shot at about 8 am while walking home from the village market in Tambon Bacho in Bannang Sata district, police said.
