Largest Azeri pilgrimage caravan enters Iran's Mashhad

A caravan of pilgrims from the Republic of Azerbaijan, headed by Shahin Hassanli, the Friday prayers leader of Baku, arrived in the holy city of Mashhad.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A caravan of pilgrims from the Republic of Azerbaijan, headed by Shahin Hassanli, the Friday prayers leader of Baku, arrived in the holy city of Mashhad.

As in previous years, the caravan which is heading to Iraq to visit Karbala, has paid a visit to the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) on the way.

After arriving at the holy shrine, the caravan assembled in the Dar al-Marhamah portico and enjoyed the special programs arranged by Astan Quds Razavi Office for Non-Iranian Pilgrims' Affairs.

“For the fourth time, more than a thousand Azerbaijanis have arrived in Mashhad and after the pilgrimage we will depart for Karbala,” Shahin Hassanli said.

He stated that the love and affection of the Azeri people towards the Infallible Imams (AS) are crystal clear to everyone, of which the people of Azerbaijan have become more aware in recent years. "In addition to showing their growing inner affinity, this has prevented the influence of Takfiri groups in the country.

Finally, appreciating the services of Astan Quds Razavi, the body in charge of Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine, to the pilgrims he added, “We are guests of this holy establishment for 4 days, and we hope that these pilgrims who have come a long way to attain divine favor and strengthen their divine knowledge to be satisfied by this pure Divine and Razavi knowledge more than others.”
