Dusting ceremony of Imam Reza (AS) Holy Shrine held in Mashhad

Dusting ceremony has been held at the holy burial chamber of Hazrat Ali Ibn Mousa al-Reza (AS), the eighth Imam of Shia Muslims.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Dusting ceremony has been held at the holy burial chamber of Hazrat Ali Ibn Mousa al-Reza (AS), the eighth Imam of Shia Muslims.

AQR Custodian Hoj. Raeisi, the representative of Vali-ye Faqih in Razavi Khorasan, salient religious figures, province and country officials, servants of the holy shrine, and respectable families of martyrs attended the ceremony.

While refreshing voice of the Quran reciter was being heard during this spiritual ceremony and panegyrists of household of Apostle of God (AS) were reciting their eulogies, lovers and devotees of the Imam (AS) were sitting in Bala Sar mosque, crying, and whispering with their lord.

The ceremony was kicked off when chamber’s door was opened and the cash donations were taken out of the chamber’s interior room. Shia Muslims usually pour their cash donations inside Imam’ (AS) burial chamber which are taken to the AQR’s depository every now and then.

Entering into the holy burial chamber in continuation of the ceremony, Hoj. Raeisi, Ayatollah Alamolhoda, Ayatollah Ameli, and Ayatollah Mortazavi replaced the cover cloth of Imam Reza’s (AS) grave, washed all the internal parts of the chamber with pure rose water, reciting special prayers.

After the two-hour ceremony, servants of Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine opened surrounding doors so that pilgrims can pray in the vicinity of the holy burial chamber of Imam Reza (AS).

Dusting ceremony is a spiritual cleaning ritual is held on various special occasions in the lunar and solar calendars.

Held several times a year, the ritual sees presence of prominent religious figures and country and province’s officials.
