AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Israeli soldiers assaulted at least three Palestinians during in different detention raids across the occupied West Bank, on predawn Tuesday.
Palestinian security sources said that Israeli soldiers assaulted a Palestinian identified as Suleiman Abed al-Karim Moussa, from the al-Azzeh refugee camp in the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem, after he was stopped at a checkpoint west of Bethlehem city.
Moussa sustained several cuts and bruises across his body; he was then transferred to a hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers assaulted another Palestinian, who was identified as former prisoner Muhammad Abed al-Nasser Hamed, 23, after raiding and searching his home in the Silwan town in the central West Bank district of Ramallah and al-Bireh; Israeli soldier released police dogs at Hame.
Additionally, Israeli soldiers also assaulted a Palestinian identified by locals as Alaa Abu Khalifa after raiding and searching his home in the Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank.
Locals reported that Israeli forces had raided Abu Khalifa's house to detain his brother Qussai, whom they did detain.
Israeli forces detained eight Palestinians during West Bank raids, including Muhammad Abed al-Nasser Hamed and Qussai Abu Khalifa.
The Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) reported that one Palestinian was detained from the northern West Bank district of Nablus; he was identified as Youssef Awwad.
In the Tulkarem district, also in the northern West Bank, Israeli forces detained two Palestinians; PPS identified them as Mahdi Hassan al-Hajj and Jaafar Ayman Shahrour.
Israeli forces detained the other Palestinians from the Jenin district; they were identified as Muhammad Ali Samudi, Ibrahim al-Salfiti and Muhammad al-Wahsh.
According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,500 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons.
