US' illogical stances contradict nuclear agreement: Iran's Velayati

Speaking to President of the Chamber of Representatives of Belgium Siegfried Bracke in Tehran on Sunday, Velayati said, 'Based on all existing reports, Iran has shown its adherence to nuclear accord, but unfortunately, Americans, especially during the era of Trump, follow illogical stances which contradict the nuclear agreement.'

Velayati said nuclear accord is not between Iran and the US but an accord being in consensus by global community.

Also referring to geopolitical issues worldwide and in the region, he underlined instant checking of international developments.

'Contrary to the past when international developments changed regional issues, today we are witnessing that regional developments influence international scene.'

Velayati said Iran and Belgium have positive relations and they have good consultations on foreign policy.

'The Islamic Republic of Iran seriously follows campaign against terrorism as its principled policy.'

Iran helps legal governments of the region in face of enemy conspiracies, said Velayati, adding that Iran is ready for cooperation with all countries which are interested and serious in the campaign.

The Belgian speaker called for taking positive steps towards mutual engagement and said, 'In our view, relations between the two countries are not only bilateral but multilateral because Belgium is a member of the EU and this is of high significance.

'Nuclear agreement sets as a suitable opportunity for both countries as your country enjoys high level of knowledge and science and we are interested in the expansion of relations.'
