Iran's Ansari meets with Lebanese President

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Lebanese President Michel Aoun, on Monday met with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs, Hussein Jaber Ansari, accompanied by Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon, Mohammad Fathali, at Baabda palace.

During the meeting, Aoun welcomed "the efforts exerted to reach peaceful solutions that would restore stability and security to the unrest-swept Arab countries," highlighting the importance of dialogue and ongoing negotiations in Astana to end the Syrian crisis.

Aoun also stressed on Lebanon's firm position not to interfere in the internal affairs of any Arab countries in order to keep away from external conflicts.

"The national unanimity over the Lebanese army inits war against terrorism will soon lead to the end of the terrorists' presence on the outskirts at the norther-eastern borders," he underlined.

Moreover, Aoun hailed the bilateral relations between Lebanon and Iran, highlighting keenness on bolstering the ties in all fields.

Aoun also promised to meet the official invitation to visit Tehran.
