Talks reportedly featured high on most recent developments in Lebanon and the broader Middle East region.
"There are two key missions for the Iranian Foreign Ministry in the upcoming stage. The first one is to widen the scope of ties on the regional scale, and the second is to bolster economic relations with the regional countries through economic diplomacy," Ansari told reporters following the meeting.
"My current visit to Lebanon proves that the Islamic Republic of Iran pays great attention to Lebanon's status regarding those two missions," he said.
"We believe that this visit is an occasion to meet with all the officials and the political and spiritual leaders to discuss the means to develop the bilateral relations on all levels," he added.
"Lebanon is a bright model of coexistence, resistance, and steadfastness," he underlined.
"We also consider that the role assumed by Lebanon in fighting terrorism is crucial and constructive," he stressed.
"The main message that I would like to convey to all the Lebanese political and spiritual leaders is that the Islamic Republic is open to all the Lebanese political, religious, and social sides," he said.
