(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Three Malaysian members of the ISIS terrorist group, have been killed in an airstrike in Syria’s northeastern Raqqa city, officials said on Sunday.
The three ISIS militants, identified as Zainuri Kamaruddin, Ahmad Asyraf Arbee and Sazrizal Mohd Sofian Tahyalan, were killed on Friday in an airstrike in Raqqa–de facto capital of the ISIS.
Zainuri, 50, also known as Abu Talhah, was a leading member of ISIS in Raqqa. In May 2016, Zainuri appeared in a video while burning his Malaysian passport to show he was never going to return home. He also declared war on the Malaysian government which he accused of being an “infidel state”.
The second militant, Ahmad Asyraf, left for Syria in November 2014.
The third militant killed, 27-year-old Sazrizal, also known as Abu Badar Al Malizi, left for Syria in 2014 with his wife.
The death of the three militants brings the number of Malaysian ISIS members killed in Iraq and Syria to 30, according to the deputy director of the Malaysian Counter-Terrorism Unit Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay.
