(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Addressing a large and fervent congregation of the people on Friday, Ayatollah Khatami said, "The enemy is plotting to create differences in the Iranian society and also destroy the country's legal and decision-making institutions, including the judiciary.
Referring to the developments in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Bahrain, he said, 'I will announce the good news of Hashd al-Shaabi (Iraqi popular forces) victory in Iraqi city of Mosul in the near future.'
'You will hear the good news of destruction of evil organization of ISIS terrorists in the Islamic countries very soon,' the cleric said.
Elsewhere in his remarks and talking about home affairs, Tehran Interim Friday Prayers Leader urged Iran's Judiciary to vigorously work on corruption cases.
Addressing members of the cabinet and the parliament's presiding board and judiciary officials in Tehran, the Leader said it is typical of the US to do unethical and immoral moves and actions, and added, "The Americans cannot be trusted and, in addition to the Americans, certain other western states are also the same; hence, we should put trust in our own abilities and the US officials' positions and performance is also a confirmation of the same fact."
Ayatollah Khamenei underscored his support for the government, parliament and judiciary to settle the Iranian people's problems and improve their living conditions, and underlined that any measure taken by the three branches of power should be deemed necessary and meet the national interests.
Speaking about the sedition which occurred in the aftermath of 2009 presidential election, he said US and the Western media had a full-scale support for the political agitators.
The enemy tries to provoke differences and polarize the Iranian society on the eve of upcoming presidential elections in 2017, Ayatollah Khatami added.
He also stressed the importance of supporting domestic production, and said, "Production should be given special attention in both the industrial and agricultural sectors."
He said Iran's Islamic Revolution message has been exported and today even the strongest storms cannot damage the revolution tree.
He reiterated that the country's officials need unity and unity cannot be achieved by chanting slogans."
Ayatollah Khatami's remarks came after Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei underlined that Iran cannot trust the US and its western allies for their bad record in complying with their commitments.
