Kurdish forces close to Syria's Raqqa after major advance

The Kurdish-led "Syrian Democratic Forces" (SDF) continued their large-scale military operation dubbed "Euphrates Wrath" on Friday, targeting several villages under the control of the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS).

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - The Kurdish-led "Syrian Democratic Forces" (SDF) continued their large-scale military operation dubbed "Euphrates Wrath" on Friday, targeting several villages under the control of the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS).

According to the media wing of the Syrian Democratic Forces, their units liberated 5 villages and 2 hilltops on Friday, killing and wounding several IS terrorists during this advance.

The identified villages captured by the Syrian Democratic Forces on Friday were Al-Sheikh Hassan, Al-Ghazali, Khunayz Fawqini, Khunayz Mujadameh, and Al-Khadr.

As a result of this advance, the Syrian Democratic Forces are now within 32 km of Raqqa City.
