According to Ahlul Bayt News Agency – ABNA – the former Emir of Qatar has passed away.
Al Jazeera reported the death of “bin Hamad Al Thani” the former Emir of Qatar and grandfather to the current Emir.
He was Emir of Qatar from 1972 to 1995 and resigned voluntarily. His son took power after him.
Bin Hamad Al Thani's son seized power from him by a coup in 1995.
Qatar will observe three days of mourning
