The head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, met the director of the department of the Middle East in the French Foreign Ministry Jean-Francois Giraud at his office in Baghdad on Monday.
A statement by the SIIC cited “During the meeting, Hakim confirmed Iraq’s ability to overcome all problems and crises through the partnership among the political key sides as well as regarding the formation of a government in line with a clear vision.
“For his part, the French official expressed during the meeting, “his country’s support for Iraq in the fight against terrorism and, the implementation of projects for the reconstruction and development of Iraq,” the statement concluded.
